Just a reminder that today is an Early Release Day! Students will be released at 1:00.

AP Environmental Science students set individual environmental goals aiming to reduce their impact on the environment as much as possible. Mrs. Lindsey invited them to join her on quitting disposable straws so each one got a reusable one. While these changes are small, when everyone does it the impact is BIG! Will you join us? Think about little things you can do to help reduce your impact on the environment.

Please help us congratulate Carleigh for winning STATE CHAMPION public speaker for the Florida Soil and Water Conservation Youth Speech contest. She won the Gilchrist County contest in April, the seven-county regional contest in June, and yesterday she won the state contest in Daytona Beach.

Saturday, 9/11 marks the 20th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. We at Bell High School remember the sorrow of that day, but also the dedication, commitment, and strength of those who responded to those tragic events. We would like to thank Colonel Reneau, First Sgt. Meinholz, the BHS JROTC Program, and the Gilchrist County Sheriff's Office for the moving and memorable program this morning honoring the heroes from 9/11. We will never forget the sacrifice and courage of all the men and women involved.

The Character Trait of the month for September is: Contentment.
Contentment is a state of mind that has nothing to do with money, objects, or other people, nor does it concern itself with how much we have, or how little. Instead, it’s about finding a point of stillness within ourselves which allows us to be quietly happy whatever our situation might be, and to be at peace with who we are.
Some ways to be content could be to:
*Keep a gratitude journal or say something that you are grateful for every day.
*Value people above things
*Want less and give more
*Be thankful for what I do have
We hope you have a September that is full of contentment!
