Mrs. Gregory’s 6th grade World History classes made cuneiform tablets today. The students made a tablet and wrote their name using the ancient cuneiform writing. They enjoyed this activity very much and are very appreciative to the parents who purchased the clay! 😊

The Resiliency Trait for October is Honesty. In the dictionary, honesty is defined as “being truthful.” This definition of honesty doesn’t give us the full picture of what honesty means. The real definition of honesty is “the state of mind where one’s actions are done in accordance to the values one has set for himself/herself.” Honesty is not only the ability to speak the truth, but also the ability to do what is right, to live up to what you believe and stand by your values.

Please see message from BHS Principal, Dr. LeMaster: Good afternoon.  I hope everyone is doing well as our community works together to recover from the storm.  Because many of our families are still without power, and many of our county roads are still blocked with storm debris and downed power lines, all schools and the district office will remain closed on Monday, September 30th.  We hope to re-open schools on Tuesday, and we will make that determination on Monday after meeting with Emergency Management Officials.  We will provide additional information to parents, students, and staff on the re-opening plan on Monday afternoon.  If you need food or water for your family, Gilchrist County Emergency Management will be distributing Shelf-Ready Food and Water at the Gilchrist Agricultural Complex, which is the rodeo arena, today until 7 pm and tomorrow from 8 a.m. - 7 pm. Thank you and stay safe.
