All GCSD schools and the district office will remain closed on Friday, Sept. 1. Schools will re-open after Labor Day, on Tuesday, Sept. 5th.
All Gilchrist County Public Schools and the District office will be closed on Tuesday, August 29th and Wednesday, August 30th as we prepare for the approaching storm. Schools will be open tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 27. All extra- curricular activities will continue as planned on Tuesday ONLY.
Due to Hurricane Ian, all Gilchrist County public schools will be closed and all extracurricular activities are canceled for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week (Sept. 28-30). Schools will be open tomorrow, Tues., Sept. 27, but a decision has not been made about after school activities for tomorrow (stay tuned).
The Special Needs Shelter at Bell High School will open tomorrow evening, Tues., Sept. 27, at 6:00 p.m. The General Population Shelters will also be opening, but a specific opening time/date has not yet been established.

Attention GCSD parents and students in grades 6-12! The Gilchrist County School District has a new attendance policy for middle school and high school students. Students who have 7 or more absences in one semester will have their participation in sports and extracurricular activities suspended for a period of time. We have implemented this policy to support the important role regular attendance plays in the academic success of our students.
