The Gilchrist County School District is happy to welcome our new Superintendent, Dr. Jim Surrency! Our schools have had years of academic high performance under Former Superintendent Rob Rankin, and we are confident that this trend will continue under Dr. Surrency’s leadership, in concert with the resiliency and perseverance of our teachers, staff, students, parents, and community. Below is a message from Superintendent Surrency:
“Gilchrist County, I want to thank you for the honor and the opportunity to serve our schools and community in this role. I have been and continue to be extremely proud of the strength and flexibility of our team. I want to assure you that health, safety, and quality educational services will continue to be the priorities of this district. We are in the business of preparing students for futures that we cannot always predict. We take this responsibility very seriously. My goals as Superintendent are to continue improving communication so that we can act as informed partners in the education of our community’s students, keep college and career readiness as a focus, and to maintain continuous improvement through difficult times. Although we are experiencing challenges like we have never seen before, I am confident that we will press onward as a school family, and we will get through it. I have an open door policy, I encourage collaboration, and I welcome your continued support of our high performing school system."
