Two of our Engineering students have been working for the Florida Department of Transportation through a Work-Based Experience program similar to Co-Operative Education or OJT. Kieley Duke of THS and Morgan Wright of BHS were selected for employment with the FDOT after an extensive application and interview process. The Gilchrist County School District's career and technical education program is partnering with the FDOT and their Road to Work program that allows high school students with certain industry certifications to engage in meaningful job training experiences while earning an income. These girls both work 20 hours per week, and have been gaining valuable work experience and credit toward graduation simultaneously. Thank you to Cindy Dunkle and Becky Tyson at DOT for including our students in this amazing opportunity!
