Trenton High School's Biotechnology program was featured in Representative Neal Dunn's weekly news! Congressman Dunn says:
"This week, I met with Ashley Thoron, an Agriculture Instructor in Gilchrist County. Ashley was in DC on behalf of the Florida Association of Agricultural Educators. We spoke about the importance of career education in high schools. Ashley runs a strong agricultural program at Trenton High School, with her specialty in Biotechnical Agriculture. Her students have the opportunity to work on research within the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF IFAS). As Ranking Member of the House Agriculture Subcommittee on Biotechnology, Horticulture and Research, it’s wonderful to see students in the district growing in the field! She was joined by Andrew Thoron, an Associate Professor at UF IFAS, who provides leadership to address the professional development needs of Florida agri-science teachers."
