More than three hundred teachers and administrators from the NEFEC districts, along with pre-service teachers from UF presented at and attended the Fourth Annual Teaching, Inquiry, and Innovation Showcase at P.K. Yonge on Saturday, April 19th. These educators worked all year developing their inquiry projects to share at this culminating event. The closing session included a sneak peek performance of P.K. Yonge's musical production of 42nd Street.

Inquirers Kelly Dolan and Leanne Criscitiello shared some of their experience with WCJB 20, along with Nancy Dana, the director of the Center for School Improvement. Teacher Inquiry, also referred to as action research, is the systematic, intentional study by teachers of their own classroom practice. Teacher inquirers seek out change and reflect on their practice by posing questions, collecting data to gain insights into their questions, analyzing the data along with reading relevant literature, making changes in practice based on new understandings, and sharing findings with others.

This event is sponsored by the Florida Reading Initiative at NEFEC, in partnership with the UF Center for School Improvement and P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School. To see detailed descriptions of projects from last year's showcase, you can access the Monograph online.
