fdlrs The Florida Diagnostic and Learning Resources System is a network of state and federally-funded centers throughout the state. Support services are provided to exceptional student educators, children, parents, and community agencies. FDLRS / Springs assists any stakeholder interested in the educational needs of exceptional children in Alachua, Citrus, Dixie, Gilchrist, Levy and Marion Counties.



CHILD FIND
• Identification of children with special needs from 3-5 years of age.
• Screening and evaluating
• Assistance in staffings
• Provide support for ESE Pre-Kindergarten teachers
• Assist in transition of children from birth to 3 years of age.

HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT
• Provide workshops in effective teaching strategies for educators
• Support exceptional student and general educators
• Assistance in helping schools understand Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
• Assistance with school to community transition activities
• Provide access to information, materials, and other training resources

PARENT SERVICES
• Develop partnerships between families, schools, and agencies
• Assistance in helping parents understand Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
• Provide parent information and training

TECHNOLOGY
• Provide assistance in evaluating students for adaptive technology
• Provide workshops on varieties of software and hardware
• Support local universal access stations
• Provide technology and training to exceptional student classrooms
